THE FORGOTTEN CHILD

Alone in this world,
No place to call home,
She sits lost in the shadows.

No one can hear,
Her silent scream,
The scream of the forgotten child.

Why was she chosen,
To live in this hell,
The answers remain unsolved.

She cannot love,
She knows only pain,
A life trapped in the cold.

No one is there,
She takes her chance,
And runs into the night.

There she exists,
Frozen in time,
Giving up the fight.

Perhaps for the best,
Now finally free,
Lying peacefully in heaven.

But lonesome nights,
Still hear her scream,
The scream of the forgotten child.
